COVID-19 Update – 04.03.2022

The WA Government recently issued COVID Transition Directions, which came into effect on Thursday 3rd March. To comply with these Directions in staging the 5th March Mullaloo Mile, I wish to advise that:

  1. Masks must be worn by participants (when not swimming) and spectators at the event.
  2. Spectators should comprise of family of participants only.

We trust that you will follow this advice and wish you well in your swim.


VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS UPDATE – 27.02.2022

On 29 January 2022, the State Government updated its list of activities where vaccination will be required. The City of Joondalup Mullaloo Mile is now considered an excluded event and will not require proof of vaccination.

Section 32 – Updated definition of excluded events
Excluded event means:
(c) an event that is being held in an outdoor space and which is not a music event; or
(d) an event that is for the purposes of community sport;

Section 26 – Updated definition of community sport
Community sport means organised, community-based team or individual amateur sport played or participated in other than for valuable remuneration but does not include activities in the nature of an exercise class which requires payment or a ticket or other form of registration to participate.

Vaccination Requirements

Following the latest government advice, we will not require any proof of vaccination for swimmers, staff or volunteers.

If you withdrew from the event because of the previous requirements and now wish to re-enter, please contact Tarquin at communications@mswa.asn.au. We will ensure you get your entry at the same price you had previously paid. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and look forward to welcoming you at the event.

Please Note: we will continue to comply with the latest government regulations. These regulations may change again before race day. The above information is correct as at 07 February 2022.

On Race Day

When you arrive at the venue, you’ll be asked to scan the Safe WA QR code. Following the latest government guidelines, we will not be checking proof of vaccination at check in. We recommend wearing a face mask whenever it is not possible to socially distance.

Please do not attend the event if you are feeling unwell, experiencing flu-like symptoms, have been in contact with a positive COVID-19 patient, are awaiting COVID-19 test results or have been instructed to self-isolate.

More detailed instructions for check in will be sent to participants closer to the event.

We will continue to keep up with the latest government regulations and do our best to ensure the event is safe and successful for all involved. Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to seeing you on race day!
